Avian Ecology & Evolution
Photography: Chengyi Liu
Research
In this group, we are broadly interested in the ecology and evolution of natural bird populations. In particular, we apply integrative approaches to explore diversity patterns exhibited at the level of genes, individuals, populations and species, as well as the potential mechanisms that are shaping this diversity. We are mainly working from an ecological and evolutionary perspective and incorporating information from other biological disciplines such as taxonomy, physiology and immunology. Given the rapid global environmental change nowadays, we also care about the conservation aspects of evolutionary ecology.
